I got pipped at Amazon because I broke my leg
EDIT 1: for people calling me liar, I'm attaching 2 evidences. One is an email from disability and leave from Amazon and the second one is a x-ray from my leg, I got this email when I applied for my first unpaid leave, she is asking about documentation because I stayed in the hospital from February 3rd to February 16th, but they gave me a document with only February 16th on it. If you want to know more answers, read the first comments, I've answered everybody there. Remember I was only 7 months at Amazon when this shit started. I won't give my managers name because it's not to blame an individual but an entire company.
EDIT 2: I already have a new job, I got this new job one month out of Amazon. In March 2021 I was feeling much better than when I got pipped in October, only 2 weeks after my last surgery. But I'm thinking of changing soon, I'm about to receive an offer from Facebook.
EDIT 3: About Lawsuit, I already have a lawyer because I'm suing some shit related to my accident, things are slow here. I didn't want to talk to my lawyer about my situation there because I thought it was unfair but I didn't though it was illegal. I will talk to him about this.

One more history on how Amazon is shit. I was a SDE at Amazon for 7 months and I was enjoying my work so far.
But back in February 2020 I was in a car crash and I broke my leg in a bad way, I broke my shinbone and fibula in multiple parts and my ankle ligaments also broke, so I had to do surgery and now I am a cyborg with so much metal in my leg. One thing that let me sad was that my team had a happy hour scheduled for the day after my accident and they didn't rescheduled it because a member of the team almost died, so I was in a surgery table while they were drinking.
For me it was hard to sit down after that, I could only lay down in bed with the leg over my body. My doctor recommended me to not sit down for long hours until August because I had risk of trombosis, but my manager wanted me to come back to work on may, so I did that. It was really hard for me because I was doing Phisiotherapy daily for 2 hours and working, and I felt lots of pain and could do almost nothing. My HR Business Partner even talked to me and said I should quit my job, but imagine, I was heavily dependent on the health insurance Amazon paid, how could I do that? In October I had to leave work again because I had to do another surgery 😔 I got back from this surgery and my manager announced that I was piped.
I was so desperate because of the insurance (if I had to pay the hospital bills from my pocket I would be doomed) that I decided to go on with pip, but can you imagine that my manage was off to a vacation for a month from the start date of my PIP? 🙄 I worked as hard as I could but in January I received the news that my hard work wasn't enough. Really bad.
I'm better now, I am walking again after months in wheelchir, I got the first job who gave me an insurance that let me go to the hospital I'm doing my threatment. But for the folks who love their work at Amazon as I did before, just don't break your leg.

**: Seems people are hesitant, so don’t do these unless you consult some good attorneys. You can sue years after the incident and still win. (edit)
This monster manager couldn’t even let you take a medical leave, even without pay (but with benefits)?! They should be exposed if all these are true. End this person’s career before more casualties accumulate under their “leadership”
Don’t slam “OP should’ve known what they signed up for.” “There is always the other side of the story.” social Darwinism horsesh*t in my face.
I hope all is well with you now. Hopefully you won’t suffer any long-term effects because you forced yourself back to work early.
Like you didn't realize what Amazon is, by now?
90% people on blind are boring or going through some crisis but open on giving free advices.
Form a close circle of friends outside work. Make real friends and be close to your family or loved ones but never expect empathy on your work place. Coming from a veteran for 3 decades.
Also work on your grammar while recovering, it might do wonders in your next job. Do not limit your life around a company. You are more than that. Good luck and wish you a speedy recovery.
no one likes oracle. One of the worst DBs in the current environment. I hope people move away from oracle completely.
Amazon hired you because you wrote code and bring in revenue. If you’re not as productive, not fit to do the work any more, they have to let you go.
They hired you because you help them earn money, not out of the goodness of their heart.
And about the happy hour, do you expect that everyone change their lives because something happened in yours? What should they do instead if not have the happy hour? Sit at home thinking about you?
