Now that this effort is on hold, the stock is back to the price it was before the news broke in summer. Nordstrom still wants to go private just after the holiday season. I see a benefit for both companies if Amazon is the one to help them go private. I predict talks over the holidays and a deal after. With both companies stock prices jumping by well over the cost.
Need more context
Nordstrom was trying to get a private Equity Firm to help them become a private company again. This fell through last week. In the statement they said that this was because the holiday season was too much uncertainty. I think that working with Amazon rather than a private Equity Firm would be a much better benefit to both companies.
Tha k you for providing more details Seems unlikely that Amazon is going to bank roll a failing retailer but I'm only basing this on the little info so who knows
