I'm a PM looking to get out of Albertsons, as it's a negative on my resume when trying to get back into big tech.

A recruiter reached out to me from Norton. Some folks on Blind have made Norton the same butt of jokes that Albertsons is. All kidding aside, how does Norton look on a resume, and is it a step up? I can understand the Albertsons joke here, but don't understand why Norton has a similar reputation.

Also, anyone know the pay structure at Norton?

  • I’ve been in NortonLifeLock for almost 4 years now(with 11+years of overall experience - 7 years at an Industry Giant) and I can say that it’s a great place to work.

In these 4 years, like others said, there have been several layoffs but one need not worry if he or she takes ownership of their work and is dedicated to deliver what is expected out of them.

From what I’ve observed, those affected are the ones who used to draw paycheques without much contribution(in-fact, some don’t contribute anything at all).

Those cringing over here are mostly the ones who feel insecure because they don’t contribute to the organisation’s success but are still skilled enough to anticipate that they may be in the next hit-list.

If someone feels so embarrassed about working at NortonLifeLock, why do they continue to be part of it? Probably because they are not capable enough to find a job elsewhere(just my assumption, no offence). And if they complain that NortonLifeLock ruined their career by not providing enough scope for learning, that’s the worst blame anyone can put on a company. One’s career development is his or her own responsibility and those who have good ownership quotient would definitely have a great career and learning at NortonLifeLock and would never have to worry about getting laid off as they will be on the right track. But for those who just know to cringe, All the Best elsewhere.

    • I would, when it’s the right time for me. Wonder why you were here for 14 long years despite so much hatred.

    • It took me 14 years to realize while the offers I rejected boomed in value and also WLB . Trust me most companies has similar wlb like norton (we keep wrongly assuming that the world outside is evil) . There is no hatred and there is no use for me in saying something wrong here . It’s good company but there are lot of best companies which exactly has similar work life balance and experience but they do shine in market value too. Microsoft is one such example. This is my last reply to it . Since it’s been taken in another way and I have no reason to convince you. Take it or not , leave it to you
