Hi Blinders, Happy new year to all! Hope everyone here is embraced with prosperity and happiness in the new year! I am an international student (Chinese citizen) studying in Canada. I would appreciate some advice regarding my Facebook internship application. In the end of November, after 2 rounds of interview, I got phone call from HR of a verbal offer to the FB SWE summer internship. On the phone, I told the HR that I would need J-1 visa for the internship and I m not a Canadian citizen. The HR said he didn’t know and would need to contact the immigration team and get back to me. After 3 weeks of back and forth of me asking for updates, the HR asking for my legal name, address, and my eligibility of TN visa (not eligible), I didn’t hear back since then. It has been 3 weeks including the Christmas week. I am wondering what situation I am in and what I can do? I ve seen posts here and on Jumpstarts saying FB does not provide J-1 visa for international student (those not studying in US). However, during last semester, I still wanna give it a try. I also know a classmate who is also an international in Canada got in the Facebook junior internship. His HR started his J-1 application right away... Will I be able to continue with the offer? How should I email the HR for update if necessary? Sorry for the lengthy post. I am really hoping for the internship works out. Tc: lol

Asking here won't help much. At the end, only your recruiter can give you a direct answer. People just returned to work from the holiday. Take it easy, and give it a few more days. Also, keep looking for alternative opportunities.
