This is my first post so please forgive any etiquette mistakes. I have worked in various roles in the past from sr swe to architect where I have used AWS and azure. Currently sr swe. I want to try for a solution architect role at AWS/azure/gcp.

I have a few certifications: Cloud practitioner, AWS solution architect associate and Azure fundamentals.

What are the preferred qualification? I would also appreciate any info from current Solution Architects at the 3 on interview prep, TC, any skills that could increase chances of getting an interview etc.

EOE: 24
TC: 115k (LCOL area)

Thanks byecsco. Do you know how long it will take to prepare? I am not in any hurry. 3mo to 6 mo is fine by me. Seeing some of the TC on blind at FAANG companies makes me think I should at least spend the rest of my career building up my retirement fund.

For AWS, get on glassdoor and look at sample tech questions. There are about 60. Know answers to those. That will be enough tech to get you past any tech questions with your background. For LPs, have a number of stories and make sure they are hitting an LP properly. Lots of resources out there to prepare for those. At that point, you should be good to go
