Nutanix vs Amazon Seattle

Grad student at ASU with 1 year of experience in SWE. I got offers from multiple companies for internships but I'm trying to choose between Amazon and Nutanix. Which one should I go with? The work at nutanix is IoT related which is what I'm interested in but Amazon has a reputation.

Internship is about maximizing learning rather than TC. You’ve your whole life to maximize TC. With that being said, you should focus on the company you’d want to return to as full time.

Imagine this: In one year from now you are sitting in front of a HM and envision thinking “I interned for Amazon and interned for Nutanix”. Now, what sounds valuable?

Personally, I think there’s a better chance that you’d land an interesting project at Nutanix. But I’d still go with Amazon because it opens up lots of doors in your future.

Had the same choice. Went ahead with Nutanix. If given a choice, Nutanix is a company I would like to return to, given the work and compensation at FT. It has higher PPO chances according to my seniors (all of them from my uni got one at the internship's end). Also the culture is better as I read off sites and I guess it is because it is easier to please a small bunch of people which logistically Amazon just cannot. The only thing I feel I was losing is Amazon brand name (for FAppleNG interviews in the future). Though given the amount of hiring that is happening around, I think that the brand name of Amazon is bound to get diluted. I just took a call, declined Amazon. Now I am praying that 5 years down the lane I would look back and pat myself for the decision!

Nutanix or any smaller company than Amazon with good work culture.
