I am seeing a lot of remote opportunities with Nvidia. But all the remote roles have a state attached. This is confusing and what does it mean? Do you have to be within the state to be remote? How does it matter? Is this for taxation? If so is there a possibility they will accept candidates from other states and adjust pay?

You should still apply. Location constraints can be fluid

Yeah, the job I got was posted as Remote-TX but I don’t live there. If it is remote anything and you’re a fit, apply.

There are a few orgs that require physical presence, but the manager will be very clear on that in your first screening.

  • Yeah, it's for taxation. I'm probably going to say this incorrectly, or miss some details - but having employees in a given state makes that organization subject to sales taxes from online sales that occur in that state.

Strangely, different openings within the same org show different states. Like the job that suits my profile only lists remote in New York and Colorado. However another job that may not be a perfect fit for me but with on the same org mostly working very closely has remote in michigan and California.
