Hi, I have a potential offer from Microsoft but they lowballed me. I quoted 170K Base with 170K RSU (unvested currently at Nvidia) + sign on 65k. They came back with 145k, 75k RSU and 50K sign on. I said I will get back in a few days. What is the best Microsoft can do here? Should I budge or stick to my original numbers. yoe: 9 Field: IT SAP Systems architect. Thanks.
What level MS offer is this?
If it's senior SWE you're probably 63. This would be a very low 63 offer. You can probably bump up stock to at least 150K, likely more.
Why don't you try to move internally?
That process is not as easy as it should be .. quite a problem with middle management and leadership.
Would not go to bay area from Seattle ever. Only one of them is the real world...

I don’t get it. Why would you work for less money than you are now? Also they didn’t even bother matching the offer or even come close to it. It kinda shows they do not value you as highly.
@FNhu82 bay area is significantly (25%+) more expensive than Redmond
When they came with numbers recruiter said Redmond standard of living is lower than the bay area and that there is no state tax in WA. I outright said I am not okay with the numbers. I wanted to know if MS does RSU match.
