Hi Blind fam,

I recently received an offer from door dash and walmart for strategy & operations role. First time negotiating with these kind of companies.

Offered low base salary ($160k) and no sign on bonus. Recruiter asked me to provide justification for $ sign on bonus + base salary raise.

I am very nervous and was wondering what points can I use as my justification

Please guide

Negotiate using your other offer and also if you are leaving money at the table (higher base, upcoming vesting or bonus) at your current company.

What team in Walmart? Ex Walmart here

The best way to negotiate is through leverage. The best leverage is a competing offer from an industry rival. Your justification is that you prefer working for company A, but company B has provided you with a higher offer that's hard to turn down.

160 non-tech manager is a good base. DD doesn’t give sign on to non-tech and even tech is only like 25k.

Assuming you got around 120k/4 in RSU, it’s a good package.

Does DD still not have bonuses?

What's the base like for non tech managers at the L4 - L6 levels? I keep seeing job postings for stuff in new verticals

What’s your TC offer for both, and what level did you interview at?

160k base for an ops role isn’t too out of the ordinary, but of course it depends on the level
