MBA Internship Offer: LinkedIn APM vs Google Product Ops
Currently attending first year of MBA and received these two offers. Here is a brief breakdown below. The TC is not going to be that great (unless someone here can say how they successfully negotiated comp for an internship like these) so the considerations are a bit less about the $$ in the 12 week experience in and of itself and more of future outputs. Consider that my ultimate career goal is to be at the "intersection" of product development and investing - a la working within a CVC or a VC/growth/accelerator helping with implementation and scaling products per investment round.
LinkedIn APM:
-Sunnyvale or SF (likely Sunnyvale)
-$55/hr (likewise at Google - looks like it is industry/function standard)
-$6000 stipend lump sum OR housing paid for
-Immediate mentorship with Senior PM
-50% choice in which product/team assignment
-Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner at Office
-APM private meetings with Founder of LinkedIn
-Immersion trips (?)
Google Product Operations:
-Mountainview
-$55/hr
-$ Stipend (have not been told exact amount yet)
-Mentorship with senior leaders on team
-Looks like I will be working with YouTube
-Free Google office stuff (playrooms, lunch, etc. etc.)
-Cohort trips
