I’m ordering GrubHub for lunch and dinner every day. I make breakfast (eggs and toast). For clarity, I eat relatively clean (Panera Bread, local vegan restaurant, etc). Is this normal? It’s somewhat expensive (~$50 / day), but I don’t want to spend an 1 - 2 hours cooking and eat something half ass. I guess Google food has spoiled me.. How do you make it work? I tried meal prep chicken and broccoli but then 🤮
Google.. $50 a day on food is not “somewhat expensive”. Graham Stephan would be mad But I did same thing a few months ago. Until I opened personal capital and realized how much money 🔥. Try to make sure you have your favorite snacks always nearby. That will help suppress temptation to order delivery so much.
I’m quite familiar with both those resources and FIRE generally, but yeah I also value my health. Fast metabolism so I lose weight quickly if I don’t eat enough (Healthy) snacks good call! Thanks
If you value your health, stop eating out. Healthy foods at restaurants are still smothered in butter, salt, and oil. Ever wonder why the "mixed vegetable" side dish at restaurants always tastes better than what you steam on your own stovetop?
You spend 1-2 hours cooking??!! No way youre an adult. Meal prep after groceries on Sunday and then cooking takes MAYBE 15-20 minutes during the week
Can’t get myself to eat sus food.. any recs? Or are you just not picky?
You are the slave to your own condition.
Instant pot - set and forget
Ah right! Any fav recipes?
Join the FB group for that - plenty of ideas especially for Indian food. My favorite is rice, beans(Indian), veggies - all in one shot, pasta.
So many things you could buy at costco, pre made, that are still a lot cheaper than 50 a day....
If you like seafood, pan frying white fish + rice + stirfry/microwave veggies takes no more than 15 min a meal
Exactly what I do as well !
How is Panera Bread considered clean? Their food is not clean eating
Got a cook 👩🍳 4 times a week
Damn one day lmao. Too poor
Why ? It’s not that expensive . We pay about 650 a month
We've found a decent balance: Weekdays only eat lunch and dinner. Lunch is salad plus chicken tender or hard boiled eggs. Dinner is homemade one night, ordered in the next night. Alternate days so usually order 3 weeknights per week. Weekends we cook a big brunch and then order or cook dinner depending on how we feel
You must hate money. You are seriously ordering out for eggs and toast?
Clarified
There is zero reason to spend 1-2 hours cooking everyday. It takes practice. I still say you must hate money.
