In the initial screening email, a Google recruiter had asked me if I know anyone personally or professionally at Google who could provide a reference. How important is it to know someone there? Any tips for nailing this interview?

I hear google cares a lot about referrals. You can find plenty of resources on Google interviews, especially for Pm. There seem like there were some discussions here on Blind, Quora has some criteria that they look for.

I was interviewed as a PM generalist, and I've sent you my experience in a private message. Honestly, Quora was pretty spot on describing the interview process

My experience have been that while I provided a few internal references, they hadn't reached any of them in the process. It's great to have but focus on nailing the interviews first and foremost as they are mostly just backup in case there are areas the recruiter isn't certain about and want another perspective
