David Bonderman resigns from Uber board. Required measure from a credibility standpoint, imo. Continue to put the pressure on these yayhoos, Uber.

Was there and it was pretty amazing. I'm never heard of worse context and place to make an overly sexist comment. not that it's ever really ok but doing so in the meeting after months long investigation, the way he did (interrupting a woman speaking) was just... wow. you could hear the cringing.

It's already blown way out of proportion at this point.

I must say, I felt privileged to see such a cringe worthy moment, live and unscripted. You can't make this shit up.

    • Leaves very little room for interpretation or claiming that his comment was taken out of context, what a jackass.

Am i the only one that thinks everyone is overreacting about this? It's a dumb, lighthearted, poorly timed joke. What does this have to do with him resigning?

I did the Bonderman fellowship during my time at UW and had the weird pleasure of meeting this guy. Little did I know that him interrupting me 25 times in 30 minutes would prepare me for a long career in SV πŸ™„

Wow. Uber cannot catch a break lately. Although, this looks like good news. Things will get worse before they get better. Best of luck, Uberoos

am I missing something or was he kicked out for jokingly saying that women tend to talk more? doesn't Uber have more serious problems? it's a bad joke and not too funny either, but the punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime to me.

it's typical human behavior. first you allow systematic abuse and culture of harassment and then overreact to the tiniest misstep. this happened with replacing slavery with extreme political correctness, racism with affirmative action, tolerating rapes resulting now in assuming guilt without proof and so on.

also this is how Uber becomes just another faceless corporation.

why do people always need to overdo things, one way or another?

I'm afraid in the next 10 years we'll face these undo- and reverse situation. It will affect our daytoday jobs, it will affect us when we apply for another job for a compensation jump.
