Why Don't We Open Up To Anyone With A STEM Degree?

Our market would be far more competitive if we had more diversity of people with stem degrees here it'd create higher salaries. Why are we capping at 140k visas? I was thinking about it and it kinda seems stupid to do so.

    Because we want to protect our culture and also keep some level employment reserved for our fellow American citizens? Every country in the world does this. Is this even a question?

      I agree with countries putting their own citizens first, no question about that. But at the same time having poorly trained citizens and huge gaps in qualified employment is bad for a country.

    You don't get more diversity by removing the 140k .. you get more people from a very small number of countries that aren't exactly under represented right now
