Hi,

I am a new grad who is considering between Google and other companies(so PA is important in my decision here). HR has told me that I will be matched to Core PA.

Does anyone know how good / bad is it and whether it is good for a new grad? I am looking for career grow and promo especially. Also, what kind of stuff are people doing here?

FYI, OP is interested in backend and infrastructure development and prefer to write C++ :)

Thanks in advance!

I'm new to Core and G. I can't compare to other PAs but can say it seems ok. Lots of work with potentially org wide impact, folks are generally nice and smart.

Tensorflow, server infra, front end infra, storage infra. There's a lot of C++ teams. It's all about the tools that support dev. There's another org that is responsible for internal services like the code review site, I think that's TI.

Core is very chill, googlers will write lots of bugs but most are just working as intended. Try not to take feedback on things you built as sucking too personally, just some rude people are not aware of humans being on the other side.
