Expecting a couple job offers in Seattle area coming up in next weeks (you can guess companies, no TC yet)

Type of work seems great and interviews went well. But hesitant about Seattle - currently in SoCal

How bad is it really? I keep hearing:
- weather is bad
- homeless is out of control. SoCal is bad too but not around where I currently live
- city is not safe

Still, really bored of California. Also interviewed in Bay Area but even less interested in going there.

Stay in SoCal? Move to Seattle? Keep looking?

    Weather is better than people say. Homelessness is as bad as people say. Danger is not as bad as people say, but vandalism is very bad

    Compared to SoCal Seattle weather is terrible. Seattle weather is cold, cloudy and gloomy for about 9 months. If you live on the east side (Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, etc.) there is no problem with homeless people or safety.

      I agree with VMware. When I first moved in, I was like why do people make a big deal. Its okay I can live without sun but no. I didn’t feel the same after a couple of years. Seattle freeze is real and the weather made me mentally depressed for sure.

    Me and my wife were brutally attacked by a homeless person in the UPS store the first week we came in to return our old wifi router.

    All I have to say. Nature is nice tho

      Just don’t live in Seattle. There are pretty nice cities on the East side. We also had a new mayor that had ordered multiple sweepings and increased police budget. Things got really bad for homeless people when they killed a 14 y.o boy in downtown. I have seen less and less of them.

    My worst nightmare is working at Amazon in Seattle, equally terrified by the company and location. That's how bad it is
