Young Professionals: Where does TC go?

What do you young professionals spend your money on. Im confused how some people have high TC and no savings. Obviously rent is a big one, but what about after that? And i say young professionals, so no kids or spouse i guess. Genuinely curious because i cant fathom spending all my salary which apparently some people do. Thats like 5-7k per month.

    I see the opposite examples all the time on Blind. Something like this:

    Tc 200k. Saves 150k. Because shares room with 3 others. Never eats out. Lives in office as much as possible to reduce utilities bill. Has a bike so no car payment or fuel or insurance. Practically lives on free air and god given Sun. And a net-worth of 2 million. So very concerned with future.

    • If the person is unhappy while doing it and living in fear, yes that is a problem and hopefully people like that can get help or otherwise figure out how to live a better life

      On the other hand, some people could be doing that and extremely happy and satisfied. Either because of what they are doing (very happy and motivated to save and that gives them purpose), or they are able to do many things that are completely free and satisfies them... Literature, music, art, sports, side software projects ... All of these hobbies and more can be completely free and very satisfying. We shouldn't assume the materialist culture we have is the only way to happiness (though yes if someone is suffering through it that is a problem)

      Sometimes people are extremely happy at the cost of others happiness. And sometimes that is unfair. That can be a problem.

      That isn’t spending. I hate when people say they spend all their money and mention their money AFTER taking out all savings, like duh of course you don’t have much after you’ve budgeted everything.
