OPT: SEVP Portal says Inactive STEM
I recently learnt that my H1B got picked, as in the receipt. But I had applied for my OPT STEM Extension, my SEVP portal says INACTIVE STEM. Any idea why?

Can you tell how recent it was? I haven't received any update and gave up my hopes
It was in Future STEM until last week. I applied about 70 days back.

It should keep saying future stem and turn into active stem on day after OPT ends. You should call your DSO to ask why it has turned into inactive status.

Update: Seems like an issue with SEVP portal. Everything looks right on USCIS portal per DSO comments. And, OPT STEM extension still being processed.

@op after your change of status kicked in , the portal did say inactive stem opt right ?
It’s still in processing. Once approved, it’ll change to active status. No need to worry!
