Hello, I'm evaluating an offer from FB London as E5 and I'd like to learn more about the work from home policy. I like being in the office normally, but I like the flexibility of occasionally taking a few days around weekends (let's say Thr-Mon) or full week (Mon-Fri) of working from a different country (I'm not from the UK). The recruiter says it varies from team to team, but that tells me nothing. How common is for people to take some days WFH here and there? Are there limits on the total number of days a year? Thanks a lot! TC: ~180£ #wlb #wfh #remote
No company policy about WFH as far as I know, so it truly does depend on the manager. Probably fine if you’re performing well.
The “official” policy is that we don’t allow WFH, most teams seem to support 1 day a week, and as long as your performance is good, I haven’t seen managers complain about occasional longer directions.
Definitely chill to do a longer stretch every now and then but if it’s a regular thing you’d likely have to perform well for a half then raise it with your manager. Travel is usually a better excuse, particularly if you have a business reason to be in a diff country.
Curious on the role and YOE as I’m in London too and that comp is impressive!
Check levels.fyi, it's on the high end but not out of wack. Role is Software Engineering
180k GBP is a lot! USD I would understand as being within range :)
