Are you currently in San Fran now? Does the wife work full-time?

Terminus HankBank OP Sep 3, 2019

No in GA now. Wife does not work fulltime only PT

If commuting 1+hrs one way is something you can afford to do, but even then you will likely still find it very hard

Get ready to be homeless. Find a good soup kitchen start-up and Starbucks nearby since they will never kick you out now. Also check Grindrr for "Dirty Mike and the Boys", good group to be in for fight night Fridays.

Lol so 135k is not going to be enough at all?

Nuh brah, double that for a happy wife and happy life

And if you don't have two ft incomes, it's going to be a real struggle

My rent for a studio in SF (proper) was $3600. Housing is going to be very difficult.

Google grx Sep 3, 2019

My colleague got a decent 1bhk for 2800$ in sf. I think you could stay within 40 mins from office and get a small rental for under 2500$ per month. Most ppl here assume some luxury apts rent

If he has a kid then he’s going to need more space

Single at 135 will just keep you off the streets. However kids make all the difference in BA if you want good education. Homes with good public schools, private school, and preschool will cost $$. I have 3 kids in preschool at $3k a pop. We bought in home with good public school but mortgage and tax is 20k per month. Public schools also insist on donations of about $2k per child. Parcel taxes are also higher in hoods with better schools. We have low 7 fig family TC but after crazy CA taxes, kids, and housing there’s not much left over. Since blinders will ask my personal TC is a pathetic 240

Damn your spouses is killing it.

Your "life inflation" is insane. Your spending 240k on mortgage.

You'll be homeless unless you can present a case for working in east or north bay. That, or you take a 2 hour commute from Concord or Stockton each day.

Stay the F home. That number is garbage.
