1. Amazon: L5 offer TC 265k(Seattle) 2. Snowflake: Not yet. My friend who has exact YoY got Base+Bonus (200) around 100k paper money RSU 3. Salesforce: TC 250k 3. Guidewire: In offer stage. Verbally confirmed will beat other offers comfortably Amazon is booming but worried about their PIP and don’t want to burn out again. I prefer to be in Bay area. Recruiter is not ready to help with Bay area team option. Main worry is their brutal pip. HM sounded already very arrogant. Didn’t like when asked whether they have a Bay area team. Snowflake is good but not very enthusiastic about risking with another startup. Salesforce: Least impressive. Not just the TC, but Interviewers were average and sort of rude. HM was saying Salesforce is a more preferred brand than FAANG for work. I couldn’t believe he told me Google recruiters are chasing him but he wants to work for Salesforce. Too much BS. Sounded insecure and not classy at all. Guidewire: Inclined to go with Guidewire if they beat other offers. Came to know they are a solid SaaS company with a huge market cap and stock was doing great until the crash. Hiring group is Cloud Data platform. Work sounded highly exciting and technically complex. The interview process was impressive but lengthy. I had a dozen people in 6-7 rounds where two interviewers in each round. Coding: 2 LC medium coding rounds. System Design round was FAANG standard. The interview bar was way more than the other companies including Amazon. Very skilled interviewers and they were genuinely helpful. HM seemed like a good manager. Head of engineering surprised me with his technical depth and pleasant attitude. Not surprised to read about him on the other blind thread pasted below . Finally met some professional recruiters who are responsive and keep you posted well. The only reasonable information I found so far about Guidewire is on the thread pasted below. Things are largely positive on that thread. Facebook OP is talking about the same group I was interviewed. https://www.teamblind.com/post/FB-to-Guidewire-eQUkAt1Q Lots of questions. Extremely nervous and want to take a good decision. Which company is good and a safe bet? I am currently inclined towards Guidewire. Is it a bad idea? Please help.Trying to start a poll but blind is timing out. About the Guidewire thread. Not sure Facebook OP joined Guidewire. He or she didn’t respond to my DM yet. How stable Guidewire is ? How are refreshers? How good the work is in Cloud Data group? How is the management team of this group? Requesting kind help from Guidewire friends please. #offer #career #tech #tc #guidewire #amazon #salesforce #snowflake @Guidewire @Amazon @Salesforce @Snowflake @Facebook
What is your yoe?
9 YoY. Thanks my friend. Any help is much appreciated. It’s a big nervous move. Glad to see someone from Guidewire
Cant say much about other company. Guidewire has lots of new talent. L2 director in CDP will be less than 1 year at guidewire. The L3(head of cloud data platform) in Cloud data platform join less than a year ago. L4(cto) was hire less than 3 years ago. In fact the new guidewire CEO was hired less than a year ago. The point is it is much easier to build your reputation due to cliquelessness especially in SAAS environment. Also with 9 years of experience you will have lots of impact in this department. If you plan to stay 5 to 10 years then guidewire. 2 to 5 years then snowflake because they will IPO. Or join Snowflake until IPO then comeback to guidewire. Their offices are close to each other anyways.
Probably Snowflake, if I were to choose
Thank you. Startup stability is something worrying. They seem to have a freeze as well. I do like Snowflake.
Consider Amazon only if offer is aws else ignore.
Thank you. Offer is from AWS. Very very tempted as I love the company, but scared about pip after hearing stories from my Amazon friends and blind. The PIPed were really good engineers and now they are in other FANG and top tier companies.
Pip culture is brutal and so not worth it for sure. It's just unwanted pain in ass for that pay. If I were you I would choose a company with good culture and values.
I've just accepted an offer from Guidewire. The culture and values are in close parity to that of Salesforce. There were also other compelling factors I had to weigh to arrive at the decision. Sometimes, you've got to follow your gut and roll the dice! You can't go wrong with any of these extraordinary organizations. Good luck!
Congratulations! Glad to hear that. Glassdoor and other blind reviews are highly positive. I read about their collegiality culture. Interviewers did demonstrate that. They were very helpful even with such a surprisingly high bar. I just don’t know anyone who worked / working there to get more feedback. Good news is , I’ve started getting very helpful information. Blind is such an incredible platform. Thank you. I agree with you that sometimes you just need to follow your gut.
what did guidewire offer?
Snowflake for the win
Thanks. Any idea about freeze? How is the stability? My experience with startups have not been great..a bit worried to be honest. Any thoughts with other options?
Enterprises love their product, and I see nothing but upward momentum for them. You are essentially getting startup reward with little downside risk by joining Snowflake.
Make a poll OP! And are all these offers post-negotiation?
Amazon and Salesforce post negotiation. Poll wasn’t working. Trying again
Poll worked finally. Did not add Snowflake as they seem to be on a hiring freeze
Go with Guidewire. They are doing some very interesting work. Head of Engineering of your hiring group (Cloud Data Platform and Analytics) had contacted me for an Architect role through a common connection. Had a beer catchup with him before the lock down. He definitely had more technical depth and breadth than me 😳. Architecture is cutting edge with real time stream processing like we do here at FB, Kafka, Flink and all modern stack on AWS. Guidewire is stable and pays very well. Not many non-FAANG can match Facebook TC, but Guidewire was ready to come close. Don’t expect them to be at FAANG level with TC. I don’t have any data to answer your question about refreshers . Regarding leadership question; my common connection says Premjith is a great leader. I went through his LinkedIn and found people literally saying he is a genius. You don’t seem to report to him so that may not matter to you much. You should rather find out details about your direct manager. Avoid Amazon EMR team. Ex-Amazon here. Salesforce never impressed me. Inflated titles and lack of good engineering culture are their real problems. Second choice would be Snowflake.
Thanks a million. Very helpful. Direct manager seemed very good too. Sounded like a good leader and was technical too. No common connection to get more details. Not many Guidewire employees on Blind. Entire tech crowd is here, wondering why they are not active. Yes, technology stack seems exciting and cutting edge.
We are busy doing LC not wasting time on Blind 😅. To be honest, there are lot many folks from Guidewire here including our CEO 😉. Most of the people I know are happy with the company. That may be the reason not much venting out on Blind. I don’t think we beat FAANG on TC but could be close enough. CDP group is probably the best when it comes to technology and leadership. I don’t know about L2 (director). I spoke just once with L3(Head of CDP). He is not much a talker I guess. Was a bit shy and not opening up until we started talking about CDP. He was very technical. Heard some very good things about him from my manager and CDP developers. It is a small / medium company everyone knows each other. Join that group you won’t regret.
I don’t have an offer from snowflake yet. The RSU my friend with same YoY got was at $38 per unif

Looking at OP’s username make me think you’ll pick amzn
😊 interned. I have to admit I still have a soft corner for Amzn. The most successful company on the planet. Love everything except how pip works. Any vote with options above?
Pip and wlb depend on org/team. Wlb at some teams are as relaxed as google.
