LinkedIn Senior SWE (Apps): 195k base/10% bonus/90k RSU + signing bonus of 50k. First year TC ~350k, average over 4 years ~317k assuming no stock growth.
AWS L5 SDE (AWS Connect Apps): 200k base, 104k/year average RSU with back-heavy vesting schedule, signing bonus years 1 & 2. First year TC ~420k, average TC over 4 years ~390k assuming no stock growth.
Both offers are for NYC.
LI: excellent WLB, culture and benefits. Downside is lower TC, not much exposure to cloud in the teams available for matching, not many refreshers to speak of.
AWS: higher TC and better learning potential imo, refreshers aren’t the best but at least will restore TC in case the stock drops below target comp which limits downside in case of a market crash. Downsides are pip and 🍌, potentially poor WLB and oncall (although this is a newer team and oncall is supposedly light as it hasn’t been ramped to large scale yet).
In the end it’s culture/WLB/job security vs higher TC/learning opportunities. I prefer to optimize for TC + career growth and am willing to grind a bit but can’t afford really bad WLB at this stage as I have family commitments.
Current TC: 260k, YOE 8

If you don't have hobbies and responsiblities outside of work then take the cash and join LinkedIn as L6 in a few years.
