This offer is through a contracting agency for a role at Microsoft. Title: Senior Producer Salary: $93K YOE: 5-6 in project management Non-engineering role Agency benefits, not Microsoft's (no 401K, not-so-great employee-paid health insurance) Is non-engineering contract typically that far under what's reported on Glassdoor for the job title? This salary is even below what's reported for Associate Producer. If I get converted to non-contract down the line, would my salary recover? How likely is a conversion? Current TC: 0 (laid off) Last TC: $86K plus benefits
Contract company take 15-33% of what MS pay you, not sure what a market rate for non tech Producers is.
If you're a contractor, your agency is getting a large percent of your base. So although you're making $93k, the business is probably paying well over $120k for you, with the difference going to the agency. May be a good short term solution to get you some income, but probably not the best long term strategy (unless you know you'll be hired full time within a certain time frame).
I’m a Digital Producer at a larger retailer making 112k base salary and have been in role for 1.5yrs. For a Senior role at my company the range is 130-150. I think you should negotiate higher
Glassdoor salaries are lower than market already because they're not inflation adjusted. So you're taking a salary that's lower than low... The agency is probably billing you out for much more. Take it if the layoff put you in a bad spot, but otherwise line something else up.
They also don't account for the significant pay increases on the last few years.
