Could not agree more with what Sriram Krishnan shared in this twitter thread: https://twitter.com/sriramk/status/1221890836364812288 especially, “often folks say don’t make the first move/suggest a number. I don’t agree. Think it’s ok to make a fair ask once you’ve done your homework. And anchoring the discussion can be powerful.”
Sure but most people don’t do their homework and actively undervalue themselves so the don’t give first number still stands.
If you don’t know how much you are worth, you will end up selling yourself short, no matter if you go first or not. I know some people feel obsessed to oppose anything you say, but this advice doesn’t apply to people who don’t know their worth, just like it doesn’t apply to 🦘 🐕 🐈 and 🐠, before you offer that insight.
Sidenote : has anyone tuned into his recent podcast on Pomp? Wonder what its like to work with him.
Agreed on the making the first move point.
Not really very useful, that other popular one by Haseeb was much better.
Ok, then share a link instead of just complaining 😂

You’re kind of forced to if the first party makes a low ball offer..
I always Round my offer up to an unreasoble number. Then they ALWAYS come in lower, where I actually wanted to be 😁. Dont sell yourself short
On wow you mean like in an actual negotiation? No way!
