I’m currently deciding between the following offers. Am looking to gather comp details soon, as of now would appreciate people’s input on the company and teams from technical/personal growth, wlb, etc.

L4 - Performance Ad Tech (search algo + infra) - Seattle, WA

L4 - GCP Storage team - Sunnyvale, CA

E4 - backend - MV, CA

L61 - Azure Compute team - Redmond, WA

IC-2 - OCI - Bay Area, CA

I have 2yoe.

I suggest a few more years experience in a mature company before join a unicorn with higher level. Then your experience will make a larger impact. Doordash businesses is good at this moment, but there are huge tech debts as scaling too fast. It is in favor for senior ppl who has clear picture on right direction and wants larger scope, but not suitable for junior eng who is still building up experience with the best practices.

As of 10 votes seems Doordash winning poll with 50%. Would appreciate people’s reasoning for this, thanks!

I’ve worked at Amazon, Google and a start up. So far Google has by far been the best place to work out of the three. The WLB is too good and career growth has been solid. I’m surprised Doordash is even in the runnings?

There's a lot of competition in the food delivery service space and even though Doordash is doing well at the moment, Postmates, GrubHub, Uber Eats, etc.. are all taking market share in that space. We all saw what happened to Uber/Lyft IPO-ing back to back. My opinion is to go work for Google for a few years and if you still have the itch to work for a pre-ipo company, reconsider in a few years when you find something you're passionate about. The experience from Google will help you excel in that setting down the road

Experience of shipping code once a month for something that doesn’t really matter must be great. Pretty sure 90% of engineers at big companies don’t work on anything meaningful. Going to a mid size/fast growing company you’ll probably get to have 10x as much of an impact
