Atlassian P4 - Toronto - Remote
~174k CAD + 10k sign-on

Amazon SDE1 (downleveled*) - Toronto - Hybrid (on-site 2 day/wk)
*was my first onsite and during holidays so only myself to blame for down-level :P
~165k CAD average

Carta L3 - Kitchener - Hybrid (on-site 1 day/wk)
~167k CAD

Google L3 - Kitchener - Hybrid (on-site 1 day/wk)
~148k CAD + 12k sign-on

Having a hybrid schedule is actually a plus for me because I miss seeing people face to face.
I live in Toronto and I don't have a car. I would need to buy a car (extra expense) if I needed to be in Kitchener.
I would just bike to work for Amazon.

I'm most concerned with career/personal growth with compensation and WLB second.

Out of all the teams I interviewed with, Atlassian seems the least interesting in terms of work. Amazon team's work is most interesting to me. Google and Carta about same in interest.
Google and Carta I'd have to buy a car and drive 2hr+ every week for work, not a huge fan of that.
Google's offer is lowest on paper and I heard internal promotions take a while so I'd expect Google TC to stay lowest.
Carta and Amazon offers are decent plus I think I'd be able to go for next level within a year.
Atlassian going to P5 would probably take a while as well.

With all this in mind, I'm actually leaning towards Amazon, any suggestions appreciated :).

Used to work at OpenText in Waterloo and commute daily from Mississauga. Was about a 40min drive 1 way due to going against traffic. I actually enjoyed the drive compared to having to commute into Toronto. If you're really apprehensive on commuting / need to buy a vehicle then the decision is already made.

      OP
Appreciate the feedback but I am located in DT, close to st. lawrence market so I'd have to take the gardiner everyday. I can definitely see sauga to kitchener not being too bad though.
Actually Google has a shuttle service from DT toronto but I get car sick very easily if I'm not driving lol.

OpenText had a similar thing twice a week. Between the Richmond Hill and Waterloo offices with a stop in Milton at the Toronto premium outlets. It was nice for naps. I know what you mean about car sickness. I get that too but somehow sitting in the back of the bus would help with it. Good luck. The Gardiner drive to Mississauga itself is a hassle.

Hi OP, did you get the sign on as part of initial offer for Atlassian? I heard they don’t give sign on?
