My interview at Amazon AWS, Seattle was good but not better than my interview at Microsoft Azure, Redmond for which I already received an offer. I am waiting for Amazon's hire/no hire decision. During this wait time of around 5 business days, will me letting the Amazon recruiter know about the offer from Microsoft Azure help with the interview result at all? Please use the poll below to answer. No trolling please. Please vote ASAP because I need to let the recruiter know ASAP. Thanks in advance!!! ☺️
I've only had one spite denial due to an offer. At best it seems to give them a little more info, more often it's neutral and they might hurry their decision if you have some time limit.
Mostly affects offer not chance of offer. However I find a little pressure and a little social proof that you are a desirable candidate is often helpful.
Hey it depends on the offer from MS itself. can u share the offer details here? Base and tc?
Well if it’s something higher than the level that at amazon u interviewed for, then it’s good to pressure amazon about ur offer so that they can hasten the process. Both companies have their ranges for each level, ultimately the tc depends on which level they think u are.
I am not concerned at all about the TC at Amazon at this point. I just want to increase the probability of getting an offer from amazon post interview. The question of TC comes after they give a Hire decision.
Which team of Azure?
It will affect the speed at which you get your offer, and possibly the amount of the offer. It should not affect the decision to extend an offer.
Amazon is generally pretty fast on the hire / no hire, slower on the offer though.
Will be useful during offer negotiation, but not at all before.
