My friends worked in these 3 companies
I guess it depends what you value most, your time, or your money, and whether you have a family or not. Since I have a family, my time with them is more important than money, as I know that my children will remember and cherish the time I spent with them more than some expensive toy or gadget I could give them. Also, they are growing up so fast, and I don't want to miss any of those important moments in their lives, as I am trying diligently to set a firm example in their mind as to what a good father is and what is expected of him. This way when then look for a partner to marry, I will be their reference point in terms of their expectations of him as the physical and spiritual leader in the home. Also, my wife would be quite upset if I was gone 60 hrs a week. So for me the answer is Tencent. It offers the best WLB balance of the three. Money does not but happiness, that is a fact. Temporary satisfaction yes, lasting happiness no. Now if I was single and didn't have a lot of important relationships established then I might consider TikTok, to gather up as much money as I can as an investmentin my future security (Investing all of it in Bitcoin or other Blockchains). However even then, 30k for another ten hours a week over the course of a year seems to low to be worth it. I always ask myself this question. "Is the juice worth the squeeze." If not then I don't do it. Also consider this. That first extra 10hrs buys you another $170k USD going from Microsoft to Tencent, yet that last extra 10hrs is only worth 30k? So for me it is obvious. This principle is the same for the employer also, yet they still fail to learn the lesson. The lesson is that the longer someone works they are faced with dwindling returns as a tired employee makes mistakes that cost more time to find and correct later. Even though this is true, companies believe they are maximizing their ROI by implementing this practice. In any regard, best of luck to you. I will keep you in my prayers as you choose your next adventure.
Thanks very much very nice advice

Tiktok is paying that much in China?
It's common actually, tiktok is top tier company in China, but nearly half of TC are stock option and bonus and bonus is not guaranteed
Wow that’s crazy. 300k usd is China is a lot of money. And this is just for an IC position? Does tik tok even pay that much in the US? Kind of surprised they pay that much. Do other big Chinese companies offer comparable salaries? Bc companies would only pay that much if the market demands it right? How does msft attract talent w a third of the TC?
