Does anyone know anything about them? Are they a good place to work? TC: 150k
What is tc do they offer? How is the culture ? Is it a corporate environment? Do they offer big increases in salary year over year?
Depends on what your title is, most of comp is in stock options, increases were low 3% last year across the board. Heavy turnover from prized employees that have been there for a while. Massive hiring spree to make up for losses. They try to lure by advocating stock options b/c of recent “sky high” valuations/fund raises. Might want to go public soon.
I received an offer of 180k base + 40k bonus + stock options. Declined given I was hesitant about the company culture and management.
Title and how much options were you offered?
I think the title was Vice President of something — just a fancy way of saying senior software engineer. I believe it was like somewhere from 5k to 10k
Hey, did you end up joining them?
No I did not. They seemed like a whatever company. Also their interview process was way to easy to get offered a TC of 220k. I would recommend not joining them
I'd stay away from that company. Been there for 3+ years and the product is subpar and none of leadership folks have ever worked for a startup so they operate like financial institution.
100 percent the equity at least for me
Been there 5 years. What do you want to know?
have you heard talks about hiring freeze or forecast of what raises and comps are looking like next year
Nothing on forecast for comp or hiring freeze though heard they’re focusing heavily on expenses
What would you like to know? I think this depends on function. But yes, I’m familiar with them.
Hi I know this is an old post, but since you said you know: how much respect does the software product team (product managers, product designers, product engineers, etc.) get compared to pure-strategy/pure-investment (or pure-investment-product) teams? What is the WLB? I heard leadership is really trying to balance its financial legacy w/ a more forward tech culture. Has there been such improvements?
I don’t think anyone at iCapital who’s SVP and below get respect. I’m not on the tech side, but I hear it referred to as a “sweat shop.” Also while I’m not a tech guy, for a company that’s been around for TEN years, the tech and user experience are garbage and antiquated. Which answers the question are they tech or finance. As much as they like to think they’re a tech company their entire leadership team operates like finance bro assholes. I think things are getting worse and not better honestly, and it all rolls down hill from the head of the snake. I will say however that for the most part you can maintain a good wlb there but again I can’t speak to tech. Explore them and do your due diligence. I will say one thing, they’re really good at propaganda so always try and read between the lines
