Modi is at least honest on Media that it is not neutral but Godi media
Hey Guys - So, I have been giving interviews for the last 4-5 months (17 in total at various levels) and I have been unable to crack a single one. Some of the companies I have interviewed for: Google (L5)- Lost out in Round 1 Facebook (E6) - Lost out in final round Uber (Sr PM) - Lost out in Round 2 Lyft (Group PM)- Lost out in Round 2 Walmart (Director) - Lost out in final round because the HM wanted someone in California (had 4-5 conversations just around moving to California) Coinbase - Senior PM - Lost out in Round 1 LinkedIn (Sr PM) - Lost out in Round 1 DoorDash (Senior PM) - Lost out in Round 2 WayFair - Lost out in Final Round + a few more. I am consistently losing out in the case study interviews - I have done tons of practice questions in various forums such as productmanagementexercises.com and Product Alliance and Candor etc. and even paid for some industry experts to do mock interviews. Feedback from the mock interviews are pretty positive where I was told that I have great structure and good solutions (all of them come with improvements offcourse) - but overall, it is positive. Unfortunately, the feedback from the actual interviews are very diverse - some say that I have good structure and critical thinking (but xyz was missing) while some have really damning feedback saying that I do not have any customer centricity or empathy in my answers. Given the diverse nature of feedback, it is really difficult to understand where I am going wrong. I spend a lot of time working through my shortcomings, but in interviews, nothing seems to work. Any advice? I am close to losing it right now as this is becoming very demoralizing and has been hitting my confidence pretty significantly to a point where I am starting to get really nervous in interviews. Any advice? YoE: 8 TC: 250K #productmanager #product #interviews
My approach to case was to 1. Show I understand how the company works and 2. Show I’ve done similar work. I think structure is important but granularities really help resonate with the interviewers
Are u currently people manager ? Did you pass Uber jam? If not , ask for feedback
Is phone interview round 1 or round 2? Many of these companies only have 2 rounds of interviews. If you lose out in phone interviews then it would mean more interview practice, and if you lose out mostly in on-site then it has more to do with luck.

Given interviews are all virtual, try and record yourself (even just audio helps) and play it back. If you don’t have any lined up record yourself during the mocks; see if you can spot any blind spots. Try and judge without bias (or as little as possible) and answer would you hire you? Sometimes you give yourself the best possible feedback!
Ouch... thats a lot of hardwork... I have reached similar point and have questioned whether the effort to practice is worht job,... the actual job in these places is nowehere close to what they expect in case study...if your goal is to make money then practice more and you will eventually get through... but if your goal is to become better product manager then you are better off going to a small company... The larger companies that are branded (FAANG) have so many candidates that they can be choosy /random in assessment...
Wow- I was in your shoes recently. And I did not interview at any of the companies or competitors you did. I was a traditional BA transitioned to Project Manager 3 years ago and the. Transitioning to Tech Delivery Manager. I am at Accenture now and my TC is at 230- this is a crap for whole lot of blind folks but my struggles is my own and my career progression is my own unlike any other SDE, MBAs or Product Managers. My best advice is make friends with other folks who are in interview process and mock each other as much as you can. Someone who got into Amzn told me he did have 65 leadership principles examples and did 70 mock up sessions with his wife and friends. Never give and always set the bar higher even with salary target and negotiations- with all the hard work you will climb that ladder even better one - that you would have climbed by getting the one of the first interviewed ones- with hard and proving that you deliver the best. Last point i want to make is that go to interview prepared but with out hope that you will get this job because this is so important to you and you have had so many failures already. It is imp but pretend that it will be one more failure and will not bug you. When u r confident in subject matter and your answers, dot just be structured - be flexible and try to treat them as colleagues already and have some fun and open chatter! You will be successful- good luck! DM me if you need to talk.
