Hello all,
Recently got offers from several companies in Seattle and two stands out. I was wondering if you all can help me consider the offers.
For Amazon L5:
154k Base,
132k signon(over 2years),
200k stock(over 4 years, 5% 15% 40% 40%)
Forgot which team
∼240k TC per year
For MSFT IC62:
150k Base,
80k signon(over 1year),
200k stock(over 4years, 25% each year)
New team with interesting technology
∼220k TC per year
My question is which offer would you pick and why? I'm also thinking about work life balance and future growth opportunities. From money perspective I'd go with amazon but I heard L5 life is super hectic at amazon. And msft has better Work life balance.

5th year cliff at MS is bad, but it’s way worse here if you don’t get promo. And you can get promoted way easier at MS. Amazon is a resume pad with good comp due to crazy stock but that’s it.

Expect no refreshers without a quick promo.
The vesting schedule for amazon is pretty rough and kinda kills your flexibility imo
Ex: “I’ll accept right now if we can meet at x sign on bonus”
There are some good negotiation guides out there for future reference.

Good luck man, let us know how it goes! Hope I can be in your shoes one day :)
