Hi Blind, I am on paternity leave right now and got an offer from another company. This new offer is tempting and will be a good move in my career. I am inclined to join this new company but I feel bad to leave my current team this way. Is it that bad or I am just overthinking it? Also, any suggestions on how should I approach this and give this news to my manager? Thanks Current TC - 130k #microsoft #blind #paternity #offer #ethics #ethical #leetcode #leetcode
I would use all paternity leave , go back to work and talk to manager before giving notice.
This is assuming you don’t want to start ASAP (which would be great so that you can enjoy time with your baby) Congrats on the baby and the job!
This is not a possibility I still have more than 2 months of leave left and I don't think the new team is going to wait that long.
If your current employer is Expedia I would leave. Seems like they will have layoffs anyways
Leaving is fine but as a manager, I would expect at least the person to actually work for a week or two to leave the processes documented. It is true that expedia is pretty bumpy and crappy environment now, but this is not an excuse.
Great advice, thank you.

Assuming you are working from home, you may have to just set up a video conference and tell your manager
