Have been looking for an online/digital-friendly wealth management service that - 1. Gives me the ability to granularly choose where the money is invested, % allocations etc 2. Makes well-researched recommendations on what to buy or sell for various holding horizons 3. Lets me do dollar-cost averaging by setting up automatic weekly/monthly investment 4. (bonus) Lets me invest beyond public markets, into alternative assets from the same platform Basically analogous to what a traditional wealth manager/financial advisor would do, but more in a Wealthfront-like digital interface, with more control rods, and no conflict-of-interest issues. Have tried out various services. M1 Finance lets you do #1 and #3, but does not do #2 or #4 Titan lets you do #2 and #3. Currently offers two portfolios that they manage, so no #1 I really like both Titan and M1 Finance, and am moving some money into each. Have tried offerings from various others such as Personal Capital, Wealthfront, Ameritrade etc but they meet fewer criteria. Would really like something that does #1-3 above (and ideally #4 too). Any pointers? PS: I do have money invested in ETFs. Looking for options to put some capital into chasing alpha and discovering new opportunities/asset classes #personalfinance #investments
I tried Wealthfront, Betterment, and Personal Capital. Didn’t like all three. I just do it myself now.
Sounds like a business opportunity for a startup!
Just go with a low cost index fund. Most managed funds don't beat them over the long term.
Thanks. I do have money invested in ETFs. Looking for options to put some % of capital into chasing alpha and discovering new opportunities/asset classes - especially given where stock prices are at right now
For short term, it might be ok to play with. Long term is questionable whether you'd be better off or just have a lower ROI due to lower growth or higher fees.
