Only 72 hours to accept a role?

Feb 23 4 Comments

So I have an offer from an Adtech company for a PM role. They are giving 72 hrs to decide.

I am expecting few more offers next week but that will mean I lose this offer.

I am going to ask for more time but is 72 hrs an industry standard?

TC: 200k (not including paper money)

In my experience, yes 3 days is typically standard. However, I have asked for more time before and they’ve always given it to me. Congrats on the offer!

7-10 days is the norm. Most offer deadlines are just a negotiating trick to make you accept quickly. Simply tell the recruiter that you will decide by X time as you have other offers in progress. That X should be less than 2 weeks thougj.

  • Just say you cannot make a decision so quickly and let them decide

I've usually had two weeks plus, but that was in the Before Times. I know recruiters hate this, but it helps to close out other interviews.
