Got an offer for director role with the below comp: Base: 190k Sign on RSU: 180k vesting over 4 years Is this good? I was surprised to learn there’s no bonus. What’s up with that? Also, how good is workday with RSU refreshers every year? Generous?
Good base. Take that over bonus.
190k for director role seems low
Prinicipal Engineers in Tools teams get paid similarly... you may want to clarify the team/ role/ location. Also you may be able to swing a sign on bonus
Data/Director/Pleasanton
Looks like the base and RSU are low for a director of Software Dev. Or is it for QA org? The best way is to try and get a competing offer from someplace else. Did you tell the recruiter what you are currently making inadvertently that they lowballed on the pay? Also, they may not increase base much. You can look at increasing base to 200k. They are usually flexible on RSU and can go up reasonably well. Try swinging a sign on bonus if you can. They can give like 20k or 25k easily. The recruiter need to realize that people need to be happy with the pay otherwise they will start thinking about a switch soon enough. Too bad on their part :(
Does rsu vest over 4 years?
Yes!
I feel that the initial RSU for director level is a bit less. Try and negotiate. But wday is generous in refreshers.
That 180K is over 4 years span, so ~45k/year
RSU seems low. How many years experience?
Refreshers are 50-60% of the initial grant. Base looks great. Congrats!
Thanks! Are we receive refreshers every year? Initial grant is 400k, then except 100k vested every year, are we getting 200k refresher as well every year?
