Remember folks, all Israel wants is the hostages back
Have offers from both for full-time trader roles but am unsure of what to do. Optiver TC ~320k in Chicago, CitSec TC ~500k while in NY. I enjoyed Optiver's culture but the first-year compensation at Citadel is hard to pass up. Not super sure what growth looks like at CitSec but the transparency at Optiver in compensation is something I really liked. I think there's an opportunity to grow in both places especially with expanding teams at both but really want to make the best career decision possible. I'm obviously missing some important things so please let me know if there are other things I should be considering! #optiver #citadel #citadelsecurities #interview #finance
Congratulations. Have you had your sell calls yet? Honestly I don't think it's close here. That's obviously an extraordinary comp difference. Citsec also has a stronger reputation in the industry, so it would open more doors down the road.
Citadel ftw
Citadel
mfing credit karma and adobe tryna blow citadel ππ comp for traders is pretty similar
Donβt you earn what you make why would there be a target comp for trader?
Why is Optiver hiring swe in Austin and traders in Chicago π€
Optiver is smaller so if you are a top performer the compensation growth will be much faster than at citadel. It starts out low because our bonus system is based on how much value you provide and itβs difficult for a new grad to generate meaningful value in the first ~6 months
How is the compensation growth in general and average tenure of folks at the firm? Also, is there a good number of people from other top places/CitSec who moved to Optiver. That should give OP a good sense to compare against..
Also keep in mind clauses with the TC and long term growth potential. I believe part of that Citadel comp is deferred.
Fair enough Optiver is clear with growth but unsure if/ by how much it outweighs Citadel. And yeah is the deferred comp a big issue? I'm just surprised Optiver didn't try and compete more with other firms
Does anyone know what the expected bonus growth is like and the firing rate at both
QoL will be much better at optiver. Also Chicago>>>>>>>NY
QoL probably not that different. Trading is an inherently demanding and stressful job at every firm, with hours dictated by market schedules, not firm culture. Citsec also has the Chicago option.
