Have an offer for Oracle OCI, IC-4 (SDE). Total comp is 290k. Is it worth it? Priority is good WLB. Current TC: 240k (not at Amazon) 8yoe. #swe
Why people even still considering oci? Amazon is far better than oci, that's how bad is oci in culture and wlb
Amazon is far worse than my part of OCI in terms of ops load, WLB, and toxicity. Doesn't mean there are none of those things in OCI, they are just not sources of daily misery in my org. Admittedly, all parts of Amazon aren't the same either.
Could you share your yoe ?
Just updated it (8 yoe).
People who voted for "Looks good for the level" - I would really like to know your rationale behind voting this considering that OCI is shitty! (I have never seen a single post on Blind about anyone saying any positive stuff about OCI). Or did you just vote for the heck of it Or all votes are from OCI HR!
Has anyone ever said anything positive on Blind? :)
That’s a low ball offer. Ic3s here make close to 350k for top of the band. So atleast I’d expect you to start a little above that for ic4
Low af ball
IC4 range starts from around ~350k, negotiate harder or gtfo and grind LC
OCI has been lowballing left and right
This -> [Blind] Check out this post! Some truth about Oracle/OCI (Software Engineering Career) https://us.teamblind.com/s/HyX2M0iL
I also received the msg from an embedded software dev manager via LinkedIn; it’s scary. Thanks for sharing, @microsoft. OCI team seems to have a decent amount of Indians, and 290k is shitty pay, considering the hours.
