One oracle recruiter from Seattle is asking me to provide SSN for interview. He said he wanted to verify something in their system. What exactly do you guys verify? I have never encountered a case like this with any other company. I’m not planning to give interview if they need ssn.
Yeah that's not a recruiter...or it is and they're stealing your identity lol
Just give them last three digits. They probably want to verify you are not the same person on their black list.
BS
Uhhhh wtf??? Not legit. You might be getting phished.
Lol what? Generate a random number and give him
Recruiter before the interview process do not ask for ssn. Once an offer is given you will be given a background check using a secure link to enter your sensitive information . The recruiter and hiring manager never ever see this actual number.
New age IRS scam? Must be easier with lawsuits trying to be Oracle lmao
Wtf... Did he also casually ask for your first pets name and your mother's maiden name?
Recruiter here. 1. Have you worked at Oracle previously? 2. In 8 years of recruiting (and I totally respect that’s not that much in the grand scheme of things), I’ve never needed a full SSN from a candidate. In a previous role, I had to ask for the last 4 numbers of a SSN because that was used to essentially indicate that I had spoken to a candidate and received their permission to share their profile with other companies. This was when I worked in a recruiting agency and I haven’t worked in an agency in several years though. A totally ridiculous practice in my book, by the way.
Total scam
Wait, what? Are you sure that he is indeed a recruiter?
Yes he mailed from oracle corporate id.
Then either somebody's account is stolen, or Oracle even more bureaucratic than I thought. Do you still want to work there? 😂
