This is my first job change in US. I got an offer from Oracle OCI in Seattle for a Senior position (probably MTS-3): Base: $170k Stocks: $375k ~= $265 TC I'm a Senior SDE at MS and have 10 years of experience doing ML at major search engine companies. The TC is about what I have asked since I did not believe Oracle could give me even this much (had terrible experience with Amazon). I feel a bit like a dog that caught it's tail. But now my "wants" shifted to $300k TC. I'm also getting an offer from Google for T4. I thought that I could use this offer to get something closer to $300k TC (base + stock/4) from Google. Unfortunately, It seems that Google does not want to give more than Oracle (or might offer something even lower). Oracle's recruiter really wants to talk to me and get some answer. I'm scared to ask for more since they already gave me what I've asked and I probably won't have Google as a good leverage. I also feel bad that I'm probable going to Google unless they pay much less. What should I do? What should I say to the Oracle recruiter? What should I do if Google gives me the same TC or even a bit less?
No bonus ? Sign on or cash bonus yoy
If Google gives you the same base and stock, it’s already 289k TC without sign-on. Bonus target for T4 is 15%.
Looks good offer to me
Senior in oracle is IC3 (Individual contributor 3). Note that oracle does not give cash bonus after performance rebiews. If you are under a good manager they may get you additional rsu during some review cycles.
You may be under calculating TC since you don't account for annual RSUs. I'd ask about that.
Good offer, but with 10 years of work ex in ML you could try one of the unicorns like Netflix / Snapchat. Or even Google.
Go to Google ... Oracle recruiter will understand once she knows you have an offer from Google
Take google offer.
Seems like a pretty good offer honestly
