Oracle vs amazon new grad

Have ongoing interviews with both of them and confused which ones better. Have no idea which team I'm going to go into in either of the two. Suggestions backed by reasons preferred. Tc, tech stack, wlb, culture, politics, learning, past experiences

Was in a similar situation. Despite Oracle TC > Amazon TC, picked Amazon over Oracle. It wasn't an easy decision. Things to keep in mind, 1. Amazon wlb is crap compared to Oracle (or any other company). But Oracle, at least from what I hear offers good wlb. You know, if you have kids, family, other commitments, and can't burn the midnight oil at Amazon. 2. Amazon has better brand recognition and would make you more marketable in the future. Especially AWS. A good team at Amazon can make a huge difference. 3. Amazon has offices in Canada and India. Matters if you're on a visa, just starting out, and are from India or China. There's a decent chance that I might wanna move to Canada or India 2 years down the line. Oracle has a presence in India too, but it is all QA and support. 4. Oracle Cloud Infra is a shit show. From what I hear, the bubble will burst in 4-5 years at most. Have an exit strategy. 5. No bonus or promotions at Oracle for 4 years. One advise I got from a lot of people is, If you already have solid exp (especially FAANG) -> Chase TC else -> chase company that adds value to your resume.

Oracle seg fault Feb 12, 2020

Less TC for more work. You are a saint!

Oracle RealLarryE Feb 19, 2020

Why are you considering if a company is still there 4-5 years out? Like ppl in tech don’t switch jobs every 2-3 years these days.

I was replying to that amazon guy
