Depending on what tier is. Pay wise probably between tier 2 and 3. Perk wise probably tier 3.
WLB wise it’s tier 1. Ownership and impact are tier 1. Small team, quick iteration. After 1-2 months of training, new grads can expect to own something.
Company outlook is tier 1.
Competency is hard to measure, but people are smart, not all exFAANG, but everyone brings in unique skillsets and experience.
Politics wise, tier 1 being drama free for most people....
My impression is that Oscar really is looking to hire great talent and is willing to pay very competitively for it. I have negotiated their offer with a few of the big companies (Google, Amazon, Microsoft) and in the end they wouldn't pay as high in TC. This seemed largely due to my yoe, but shocking nonetheless.
My point here is that I did not really consider Oscar as a tier one company when I interviewed but after negotiating and speaking with many people there I was very pleasantly surprised! As far as outlook is concerned, your guess is as good as mine, but Oscar is definitely worth giving a second look.
