I have an interview with stripe next week. It would be cool to work there, but I've been reading some not so positive things lately.
Any current or ex employees willing to share their opinions?

It depends on the team. Everyone on my team is great. Nice, helpful, smart. I haven’t grown much here compared to other jobs but I’m at “career level” where that’s not expected either.

WLB is fine but I don’t have kids. I work about 50 hours most weeks. My boss doesn’t ask me to work late. I do it because I get engrossed in my work. My team is not very deadline driven but many others are.

It does not feel blatantly competitive to me. Many people are ambitious and there are still corporate politics. Employees are stack ranked in the performance appraisal process. Expectations are high. So it’s happening behind the scenes. I’ve worked at other high growth companies and that part feels similar to me.

+1 more or less the same experience as llama so far except my hours end up being 10-40 depending on the week/sprint work

What’s the internal valuation right now? Not worth joining if it’s still at 95 billion

I echo Llama. Curious and entrepreneurial colleagues. WLB is the same as other large tech.
