Hey all,
How do RSU‘s & taxes work? For example, Amazon gives you 5% year one then 15% year two and then 40% in years three and four.
Let’s just say for example year 1 you get 2 RSU about $3.2k todays price so year 1 total is worth $6400
Is that $6400 added to your W-2 wages for that year? Or is that amount only added if you sell and take out the $6400? I guess a better question would be what is the best method with RS use? Should you take out yearly and use it to pay the taxes? Or should you wait until you’re fully vested and take it all out at once? Sorry I know this question may be more for a CPA but I’m just wondering
