  • LinkedIn we get 1 week summer shutdown, 1 week Christmas shutdown, we get 1 Friday off per month (depends on your team but on my team we don’t work on In days), and my manager encourages us to take a minimum of 15 days PTO. I think LinkedIn has it pretty good, but as with all companies with “unlimited” PTO, a lot depends on your manager

    • I don’t want to dox myself with somewhat unique work history but LinkedIn is the best I’ve had so far. I think In days are so nice since it’s an extra day off each month that I don’t have to ask for or put any mental energy towards planning in advance

    • InDay is an internal day off from work in LinkedIn. It’s monthly once on one of the Fridays and each month has a different theme (family, environment etc) so employees can focus their energy on that rather than work. You can also just take the day off like any other.

  • LinkedIn is good with unlimited PTO and suggesting we take it often. I hear other companies are similar with that as well

Doesn’t ‘unlimited’ PTO mean you can’t bank it for money when you leave?

Yes. But the upside is that you get way more days than a standard company, and don’t have to worry about accrual. Assuming you’re at a company that observes it well
