Hi folks, looking to transition from LNKD -> PANW. The benefits at LNKD are spectacular, but I like the work at PANW. I am an SRE at Linkedin and have a position available at PANW. I see a bunch of folks recently moving to PAN to their new cloud offerings. Given same TC (~270K) would you do it. Even though TC might be comparable, you lose on 401K ( Pan only matches 1K which is a 8.5K loss a year and ~10K for free food) I am conflicted and really want to switch to PAN. Looking for opinions. TIA
Well, no...TC would at least have to make up for the loss of benefits.
Level at PANW? Expecting an offer from them for Senior Software Engineer Role. Do you mind sharing the Offer breakdown at PANW?
Benefits are meh (no mega backdoor Roth) but comp is good
What about phone, internet reimbursement ?
I can, but I haven't. Ask your boss
I would definitely do it. This is a great company with a meaningful mission and a great moment in time strategically. You will be genuinely welcomed
Lol. Are you in hr?
I agree with the other PAN commenter that it's genuinely a great place to work. With regards to 401k, we got a new HR chief recently (Liane Hornsey, previously Uber's HR chief) and she sent an email out to employees saying they're working on improving it, but haven't seen any news since then.
Don't switch if you like your current role. I moved here sometime back and ended up with an annoying management chain. It's not all rosy as it sounds.
There’s good and bad. I’ve loved my experience but it’s not for everyone. We’re moving faster than we were and expectations are higher. But the stock price has moved up and I honestly think we are headed the right way. Yeah, benefits aren’t glamorous. You don’t get shit tons of free food but snacks are good and the people are nice. No nap rooms, lousy 401k match but pay is competitive if not downright better than most. Negotiate your pay offer if you’re concerned about losing the 8500 and use that to invest in the ESPP
How competitive is the comp? What'a your take on Cisco vs PANW? Also Ive heard a mixed feedback on the culture after new mgmt. Do you have any perspective on it?
Money wise should be better than Cisco juniper, in the same time you lose WLB. May/may not worth it.
Don't
