Am I on FOCUS plan/DevList at Amazon?

Hi, I am working at Amazon for the last 2 years.

1) May I know what is the process of putting an employee on FOCUS plan or devlist?
2) Is the HR involved in the process?

Last week I was told I was not meeting expectations and that I need to take a special task (to improve one of the Leadership Principles not related to technical skills - I am very strong technically).

BTW, there is no HR involved in here.

When I asked my Mgr whether this is devlist I was told this is only to help me improve (he did not say if it was devlist or not).

On the contrary I was also told I would need special approval for changing teams until the task is over.

Am I on devlist or FOCUS plan? #pip. #amazon

    You are on focus plan 100%. It will be 2-3 month depends on your manager and he can put you on a pivot after that. If you got put on pivot, you are done. There’s a possibility that you could get off focus, but just start LC and interview. DM me if you need insights on Amazon process.

    If it's Earn Trust, you're guaranteed to be PIPed. Stay strong and stick around for severance package, make Amazon pay for their URA quota.

      I have very good technical skills (got several awards for research & dev). Problem was with working with peers (they feel I hold my stand and come strong on peers), so want me to tune "working with peers" (Earn Trust).

      Am I in trouble ?

      Yes, peers are pushing you out. Ask yourself who would be PIPed to save you? That's your answer.
      Earn Trust is the go-to LP to PIP people you don't like.

    Second this info. You're on dev list. There are multiple posts here on Blind which provide guidance on how to navigate this. If you do well or not initially say a month, you can take a month off on medical leave for leetcode prep, come back and kee interviewing. So say you're not able to clear dev plan and are put on pip, you're ahead in your preparation. If pip happens, there are more posts on how to take leave and keep interviewing.
