What is an appropriate level/TC for L64 Product/Program Manager at MSFT Azure to move to Oracle OCI? Thanks for any feedback. YOE: 12+ years of experience in my domain. TC: 255k
An IC4 or maybe an IC5, depending on the group and role.
Hypothetically, what does the timeline look like for promo from IC4 to IC5? Trying to compare it with 64-65 in MSFT.
Depends on your impact and group. If you're a rockstar, other ic5+ people across all OCI vouch for you, and have a good manager it can happen in a year.
IC4 or IC5 depending on how well you do in the interview.
IC3 or IC4, depending on the loop results
The other responders don't seem to agree with this. Also IC3 seems low for 64/65 and IC5 doesn't seem to make to a high level as 66/67 according to levels.fyi.
Sorry to burst your bubble. There is no way someone so junior and with so little experience will get IC5 TPM. There are no more than a couple of dozen in the whole organization. None in OCI has less than 15-20 yoe, some even more, and none I know was less than L66 at Microsoft, E7 at Facebook or L7 at Amazon. Also, your TC is little more than half the average IC5. You are going in with an untenable request. A good IC4 will significantly improve your TC already - you are working on faulty data and being greedy.
Clay is hiring 2,000 people in Seattle. There are no level restrictions.
Clay? Or do you mean Cray?
Hi OP, did you interview with OCI?

From Azure to OCI? Are you sure?
For the right opportunity, yes, why not?
