    I was in similar boat.. I would say go for old home or townhouse which are little cheaper. With this much saving and income I bought a house of 1.05M. Keep in mind you can not touch that stock money because during loan closing they will check whether you have 12 months EMI and for that we just showed them stocks. You can buy a house with 5% down payment as you have to keep other 5% for difference in appraisal value plus closing processing cost.

    It’s always possible to purchase a property in Bay Area but it all depends on what you are looking for. # of bedrooms/bathrooms, sq ft, school district. I have way lower TC and savings than OP, but I bit the bullet to have a small place of my own, and I’m glad I made that move. You can do it OP!
