hello! I did two rounds for a PMM role and then the recruiter ghosted. I have heard nothing for three weeks. A couple of questions: (1) is that typical for fb recruiters? (2) is it okay to start applying to other FB positions?
Yep. Had the same experience with FB for a pm role - considering that HM found my profile and outreached directly at LinkedIn
I wouldn't apply for other FB roles yet just out of the blue. Did the last interviewer give you a timeline or anything? I assume they didn't based on your post, but if they did, wait for that to expire. If they haven't responded back and you don't know next steps, reach out to the recruiter. Send a simple email saying something like, "Hey! I wanted to reiterate my interest in this role. Let me know if there's anything I can provide to help you make a decision." IMHO after two interviews the recruiter at least owes you a rejection. Maybe it's normal for them to ghost but it's not good recruiting practice. If you start applying to other jobs without having done that, it may look like you're not actually interested in that role. If there is something else that looks like a better fit, reach out and tell the recruiter. Don't just apply tho - that won't make you look good.
Thanks! I reached out to the recruiter twice and have not heard anything. Too bad. From how things started it seemed like it wouldn't be a typical recruiter with poor "recruiting manners." I'll probably try one more time and then move on...
Damn that sucks. Good luck! Maybe if that's the way they treat you tho, do you really want to work there?
Are you interviewing for PMM roles for building 8? ("Aloha") Either way, reach out again, fb consumer marketing just got a lot of headcounts to fill until EOY and many of my referrals that I had made earlier this year are finally getting onsite interviews
Not sure about FB, but it's typical for recruiters to ghost. Sometimes they'll respond, sometimes they never will
