As WFH accelerates...Compensation will be impacted significantly but on the flip side, job opportunities will go up

Here’s the Facebook catch: employees will have to tell their boss if they move to a different location. According to Zuckerberg, those who flee to lower-cost cities “may have their compensation adjusted based on their new locations.” He ominously added, “We’ll adjust salary to your location at that point. There’ll be severe ramifications for people who are not honest about this.”

Pick the most remote part of a high cost of living city. Like for example in San Jose, go to the southern and easternmost point.

Gitlab is remote only and has a COL calculator for each location. It's based on market rents in each MSA for most of the US I think. There are definitely places where you can min/max to get better value per $.

It obviously makes sense! Why do you think it's a catch? I'm happy that he is up for this idea.
